Glitter Jewelry Dish DIY

I'm always bad about leaving my jewelry around in various places. It's really just a bad habit, I come home and take off a necklace or some earrings and then forget where I have left them. Well, I decided to up-cycle an old plate with a little paint and glitter to create a just-walked-in-the-door jewelry holder.  It's also great for other accessories too!

First I started off with a simple plate (similar to this one) you can find these at the dollar store or even a thrift store like Goodwill. Something inexpensive but big enough to hold a few pieces of jewelry.

I used some multi-surface spray paint in silver to cover the front and back. Leaving time to dry in between sprays. To get the glittery effect I used Mod Podge and loose chunky glitter together and painted it on the dish. I did quite a few coats to get the amount of glitter I wanted and allowed each layer to dry some between coats. Allow this to fully dry for at least 24 hours before placing anything on it.

This would also look fabulous in gold, bronze, or even rose gold glitter! (If you can find some). This plate would also make a great DIY Christmas gift if you're looking to give on a budget.Xoxo - Hillary
