DIY DUCT TAPE ORGANIZERS

I am beyond excited to share this DIY project with anyone out there who is reading this, my new organized drawer is so refreshing and happy I literally keep opening it to make sure it's still there!

I had been going back and forth for months now about how I wanted to reorganize my desk drawer. I had visited various ideas, but most of them would have ended up costing $$ and for a drawer I just wasn't willing to give in to that amount quite yet.

If you're here often you should know that I am a big fan of the sample service BirchBox (February Box) and as the name says the samples arrive in a box. These boxes are just simple cardboard boxes and they have been useful to me till now as my organizers for my drawer.

Here is the before

Anyway -long story short I was only using a few and then one day while staring at the drawer (yeah, I know..) it occurred to me that I wasn't using ALL my old boxes

So I pulled everything out of the drawer, wiped it clean,
then I gathered up all the boxes and lined the drawer; amazingly they all fit (almost) perfectly!

There was only a small amount of space between the front row of boxes, but I didn't mind because the front boxes had nowhere to go due to the back boxes. (and yes I am rocking pink socks)

Of course I couldn't leave them looking like that... so bring on the duct tape!

Ahh, Much better! My method for applying the tape was fairly simple and after the first few boxes I really got it down.

I had started using scissors to cut, but with duct tape you really just have to tear it. So I eyed the length by holding the strip of tape up to the side of the box where it would go and estimating the size. The good thing about DT is that you can cover over with smaller pieces in places that need extra tape

Here it is all pretty and put together! I am so happy with how this looks and I love all the wonderful bright colors!
I hope you are inspired to organize something with pretty duct tape!
