NAUTICAL SATCHEL DIY

This week I did a super easy purse DIY that only requires some painters tape, rubbing alcohol, mod podge and white acrylic paint.

I had found this bag on Target clearance along with two others that are identical but in pink and black.

For the pink purse I did a floral deco podge with that you can read all about here.

I started by using the rubbing alcohol to remove the coating and clean the area I wanted to paint

Then I taped out the pattern I wanted on the purse, in my case I wanted stripes, so I cut the painters tape in half length-wise to get the size stripe I wanted.

Then I mixed some acrylic paint with equal parts mod podge and painted a thin layer onto the purse.
After the first layer has dried I rotated between added a layer and letting it dry until the color was opaque. I let that dry completely before removing the tape. *Optional: You can use a few light coats of a spray gloss the finish the bag.

I feel this picture doesn't due the bag any justice to just how cute it really is.... but you can see that its still cute and very nautical and perfect for summer!

Thanks for Reading
